Summary | 0047960: Open Multiple tabs of a window despite of preference settings
Description | We tried in 2 different environments with the given version and found that despite of the preference "Allow multiple tabs of a window" set in 'N', the system lets you do it anyway. If the preference is not set, the default behavior opens multiple tabs of a window. The client version is 3.0PR20Q1.1
Steps To Reproduce | 1) Go to "Preference" window 2) Go to "Allow multiple tabs of a window" preference (create it if it is not listed) 3) Set the preference to "N" and save the record. 4) Log out, and refresh erasing cache. 5) Log back in and try to open a window twice. 6) Observe that the system lets you do it, despite of the preference set as "N"

It is working as expected according with the documentation [1]: "[...] by default only one tab of a window is allowed. Only in case there is a module in development or the window is flagged as Thread Safe it is possible to have multiple tabs. Since this version there is a new Preference property Allow Multiple Tabs of a Window that enables the possibility to open more than one tab of a window. This preference can be configured by user, role and/or window level." In production environments, only one tab per window type is opened unless the window is marked as thread safe or the "Allow multiple tabs of a window" preference is set to Y. Note if there is any module in development, the behavior changes to always open multiple tabs per window. The purpose of this preference is to use it to allow multiple tabs of the same window, NOT to prevent it. [1] http://wiki.openbravo.com/wiki/User_Interface_Introduction#Tabs [^] |
