| Description | After installing 2.40beta on Ubunu 8.04 there are some errors while deploying the war file which prevent the deployment: Root cause is:java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.io.FilePermission /var/lib/tomcat5.5/webapps/openbravo/WEB-INF/classes/logging.properties read) Issue was reported on irc from boritek_ Disabling the java-SecurityManager in /etc/default/tocmat5.5 did work as a workaround for the issue. | |||||||

The same problem occured with a least two other installations on ubuntu. The same workaround worked for the time being. |

This seems to be caused by a more tight security policy in some tomcat versions. The debian bug 461355 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=461355 [^] looks a bit more into the issue, but has no clear solution yet. |

This issue is documented in the Openbravo ERP environment installation, and proposes creating a policy file granting all the permissions for this context: http://wiki.openbravo.com/wiki/Openbravo_environment_installation#Debian_.28Ubuntu.2FKubuntu.2FLinux_Mint.29_4 [^] I lower the severity to minor. |

Openbravo doesn't support running with java security manager. Also security manager is being deprecated/removed from java itself in the latest versions. Closing as out of date |
