Summary | 0027051: [UX] There should be a way to open the product card with the current default behavior
Description | Right now, by using a preference, it is possible to open the product card once you tap a product. So, with this preference active, the flow to add an item to a ticket is: 1º Tap the product -> The product card is opened 2º Click in the "Add to receipt" button -> The product is added to the receipt There should be a way to open the product card for any product without changing so much the default behavior (a tap in the product adds the product to the receipt) and without the need of the actual preference. The current preference should be maintained for the case a user wants ALWAYS going through the product card before adding the product to the ticket
Steps To Reproduce | . | |||||||||||
Proposed Solution | There is a contextual menu icon inside each product https://issues.openbravo.com/view.php?id=34617 [^] [^] The proposed solution is to add a new entry ("Product Card") inside the contextual menu opened once this button is pressed. In case the preference is active, so tapping the product will open directly the product card, then the text and action should be "Add to Receipt"

<DEPRECATED APPROACH> The main difficulty in terms of UX, is determine which is the best way to open this product card view from the SEARCH, BROWSE and EDIT windows. There could be several solutions: SEARCH and BROWSE cases: a) Pressing the image of the product: With this approach, if you press the image of the product, you open the product card view, but if you press in the text of the product, it adds the product to the receipt. b) If you press the whole thing (image + text) it adds the product to the receipt (exactly as it works right now) but if you press during more than 1 second, it opens the product card view. Here some deeper tests should be done, because right now in tablets and smartphones, if you press during > 1 second, you see two arrows and the text-selection mode is enabled. For this solution is a must that this behavior doesn't happen (add a transparent layer in top of the image+text to avoid text selection?). c) If you press the whole thing (image + text) it adds the product to the receipt (exactly as it works right now) but if you swipe from the right to the left the whole thing, it opens the index card view. This solution is very nice because it is like if you send something to the left with your fingers, and it is there (in the left) where the index card view is going to be shown, but it should be reviewed how good works with the mouse. d) Use a context menu. Using the mouse, with the right click should open a contextual menu allowing to open the product card view or add the product to the receipt. Using the fingers, it should use long tap or two fingers tap (to be determined) to open this contextual menu EDIT case: a) When you click the product image, the product card view is opened. b) Add a new orange icon with an "i" icon. Once you press this button, the product card view of the selected product will be opened. |
