Summary | 0015565: Behavior after closing a newly opened tab
Description | If you open a tab from e.g. the Workspace (by maximizing a query/list widget) the focus is placed on that tab. This makes sense because the user choose to view the maximized widget (or related link). However, when closing this new tab, the focus moves to the tab to the left of the tab you just closed which can be a non-relevant tab for the task at hand.
Steps To Reproduce | E.g. you have the current tabs open: WORKSPACE | Sales Order and from the workspace widget Payment In - Awaiting Execution you click the maximize button... You now have the following tabs open: WORKSPACE | Sales Order | Payment In - Awaiting Execution If you now close the last one, the focus will go to the Sales Order tab. It should go to the WORKSPACE tab.

Few questions: Should it remember the whole path you went through the application? So after closing the second tab should it go to the third tab you visited before etc. etc. What should the system do if the tab you came from has been deleted earlier? Have you tried what other apps do? Chrome goes to the tab to the right of the closed tab. This won't be done in RC4 I am afraid. gr. Martin |

Getting too difficult with more than 1 step back. I´d keep it to 1 step. IDEA: If new "linked out" tabs are always opened to the right (so also inserting it if there are other tabs already opened to its right) then this is solved. This is Chrome & Firefox tab behavior. Much better and kills two birds in one shot. |
