| Description | Alternate Unit of Measure functionality can be enabled by setting a preference. The correct way of setting this preference is by using the Client Administrator user. However, this preference requires a setting via the System Administrator. As a consequence of this wrong setup, all the clients will be affected by the change, even those who do not require the functionality. | |||||||||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Read the documentation about the AUoM project, it specifies the preference creation process. | |||||||||||
| Proposed Solution | It is a major conceptual error, since the project assumes that all the clients within an installation will have the same functional requirements. It is also a potential problem for the future, when another functionality based on this one could be developed properly (with the preference set at Client level) and by this creating consistency errors... or even worse, it will force every new development related with this one to also be set at System level to keep consistency. | |||||||||||
