Summary | 0010562: Upgrading packs with new modules doesn't work
Description | Upgrading a pack with new modules doesn't work. The new modules are not installed and the old ones are not upgraded. Moreover, in a step of the process below, the application installs a modules without a mandatory dependency. Please see the steps to reproduce to understand it better
Steps To Reproduce | 1- I have installed the Spanish Localization Pack 1.0.2. 2- A new version of the pack is available which includes more modules. 3- I try to upgrade my package, the Module Management console shows the new version of the pack with the new modules inside. I mark it to update, I rebuild the system. 4- When I go again to the Module Management console, I see that the new modules of the pack are not installed and the modules inside (from the previous version of the pack) have not been updated. However the pack version is updated. 5- I search again for updates, new version of the modules are detected (see mmc.png). I mark the updates and rebuild the system again. The installation seems to be OK, except for this error: SQL Command failed with: ERROR: no existe la restricción «admoduledependency_admodule2» -- END ALTER TABLE AD_MODULE_DEPENDENCY DROP CONSTRAINT ADMODULEDEPENDENCY_ADMODULE2 6- Again in the Module Management console, I click for updates and another module is displayed to be upgraded (see mmc1.png). But the most import thing is that one of the modules (Taxes for Spain version 1.0.5) has been installed without a mandatory dependency (the Spanish tax module improved 0.0.5), which is available in the Central repository and in the new version of the Spanish Localization Pack (see nodependency.png) 7- I rebuild the system again. Two errors appear again in the log: SQL Command failed with: ERROR: no existe la restricción «admoduledependency_admodule2» -- END ALTER TABLE AD_MODULE_DEPENDENCY DROP CONSTRAINT ADMODULEDEPENDENCY_ADMODULE2 SQL Command failed with: ERROR: inserción o actualización en la tabla «ad_module_dependency» viola la llave foránea «admoduledependency_admodule2» Detail: La llave (ad_dependent_module_id)=(109C0BBA336D49F7AC5BD4B5D75D33D8) no está presente en la tabla «ad_module». -- END 8- I go again to the Module management console, scan for updates and not updates are detected. The final situation is that the new modules of the package are not installed and I have an installed module without a mandatory dependency.

I installed Spanish Localization Pack 1.0.2. After that, I clicked on "Scan for updates", and got a newer version, which included more modules. I installed it, and the additional modules were installed just fine. I rebuilt the system, and the process was completed without any problems. |
