Summary 0022827: Max not reserved stock in Openbravo MRP
Revision 2013-03-12 18:42 by psarobe
Description This feature aims to implement the following

Max not reserved stock: Maximum stock without taking into account the pre-reserved stock. This field is only visible when Stock reservation feature is enabled. See the below example to understand how it works:

Safety stock and Max not reserved stock are 200 and 1000 units
Several sales orders to be delivered by 3000 units
These sales order will generate the corresponding purchase orders (pre-reserved) when launching MRP
    Currently in stock 80 units
When MRP is launched it will create the corresponding pre-reserved and because being after below safety stock it will create another purchase order:
As the Max not reserved stock is defined the system will create a purchase order of 920 units
If this parameter wasn't defined it would work as usual and it would create a purchase order of 20 units

Description Now exits a safety stock in the manufacturing tab. This stock will be taken into account in the purchasing plan. The purchasing plan will propose buy enough stock to fulfil the saftey stock plus the demands.

However sometimes you want to buy more stock that the saftey stock because you want to be some time without buying new stock. You can do this in openbravo creating requirements.

Proposal: Add a flag in the manufacturing tab that displays a maximum field.

The purchasing plan will only propose to buy stock if you are under the safety stock however it will propose to buy stock to fulfill the Maximum instead of the safety stock. Also, the system could not allow to make an order that exceeds the maximum qty.

If the qty type of the product in purchasing plan tab is multiple, and if to satisfy this condition the suggested qty exceeds the maximum, this qty will have to be rounded down to leave below the maximum.

Example:

Lets suppose that there is no demand by orders requisitions or forecast. Just the safety stock and the Replenishment Level.
-The saftey stock is 20 and the Replenishment Level is 100
-Day 1 you have 50 in stock so the Pplan won't propose to buy nothing
-Day 2 you have 30 in stock so he Pplan won't propose to buy nothing
-Day 3 you have 15 in stock so the Pplan identify that your are below the stock so it will propose to buy stock, however instead to propose 5 to fulfil the safety stock it will propose to buy 85 to fulfil the max stock
-Day 4 you have 90 so the Pplan won't propose to buy nothing

Important note: If you leave the Maximum empty or you put the same quantity in the safety stock that in the Replenishment Level the behaviour will be the same that before.
