Summary | 0013960: classic layout shows 'session expired' in the check alert widgets iif session is expired. Provide similar hint in new layout
Description | Right now if you are logged in then don't use the application for some time. Then the next mouseclick will send you back to the login page as your session timeout out and was closed. However there's right now no visual clue about this in the new layout. In the classic layout the alert widget did show the text 'session expired' in that case.

The new layout will automatically redirect the user to the login page (which is the only valid approach afaics). Did you see this behavior? (or maybe not). |

Yes it will and should do this redirect of course. However this is only done after the first mouse-click of the user after the session timed out. Then the user might be surprised as he had no idea that the session was already timed out. In classic layout you know this fact before, as you have this visual 'Session expired' in the ui even without the need for a user action. So some passive indicator. As its updated by the checkAlert request and then just shown in the UI. This indicator is just a clue to the user on top of the normal handling -> redirect to login page, after session timeout, on next action of the user. |

What I mean is that currently the checkalert will automatically force a relogin. So instead of showing a message, the relogin is done currently already. Is that also what you see? So with this behavior I don't think that the message is not necessary. gr. Martin |

Imo the current behavior is fine, automatically move to the login page. gr. Martin |
