| Summary | 0009289: Only projects associated with a business partner can be used as reference for a purchase invoice | |||||||
| Description | In the Purchase Invoice window users can associate a service project to the invoice header. This is used to track costs by project. As such it does not make any functional sense that the project must be associated with a business partner. However, the system only display projects that are associated with a business partner (the business partner field is option in the project but it must be filled for the purpose of using this project to track cost). As a consequence of this behavior, many installations are forced to create a dummy business partner and associate it with these projects. This is not only not needed but it increases the configuration complexity of the system. The business partner associated with the project is useful to generate sales invoices, but there is no reason to require a business partner for projects that will not create sales invoices but only used to track purchases. | |||||||
