| Summary | 0007741: Data validation is not there for "Phone" & "Alternative Phone" fields in User tab. |
| Description | Phone & Alternative Phone text fields accept special characters & full alphabets. |
| Steps To Reproduce | Login as Openbravo/openbravo
Go to General Setup -> Security -> User.
In the phone text fiedl enter combination of special characters.
In Alternative Phone field enter full of alphabets.
Save the record. |
| Proposed Solution | The phone number should not accept the input is full of alphabets and full of special characters.
It can contain special characters,alphabets also with digits.

Hi Arun,
What if Phone is for instance a Skype ID? Or includes +04... ?
Should we keep considering this a bug?

Yes , we can have lot of options in the phone number. For example it may contain special characters like -, + etc..Also it may contain alphabets too.
My suggestion is we can have a phone number including all this. But if it only contains alphabets or special characters then it should display an error message. |

If one uses this field to add a Skype ID it may happen that no numbers are typed in this field. If you think that there should be a special phone (only) field type please log a feature request similar to 0007475 (e-mail field type).
