Summary0006954: New button: Copy record / Duplicate record
DescriptionIt would be very handy to have a button to create a duplicate of the current record. I am imagine something like this:
1. I enter a window (let's say Product)
2. I look for a product but the product does not exist.
3. Since I could find a similar product, the new product will look like current record, so I click on Duplicate button and I enter on New window, with all fields filled with the values of current record.

Hello Francesco,

The functionality you suggest is definitely a productivity booster that we need to add sooner or later. The best solution I think is to be able to duplicate in both situations: while in grid and while in form view. We have been designing concepts that have this functionality. Check out the UX Lab forum for all ideas we generated, including duplicating [1]. This mockup [2] contains duplication if you want to see it in action.

We can´t promise a definite time line yet but it is very likely this functionality will be part of a big release with a complete GUI overhaul.

Hi
As you said it is a productivity booster, because for similar products, document types and other similar info it is boring create more records with the same informations and only few differences.
I hope the delay will be short. :)
