There are two options to create PO from requisitions.
If the PO is created with the process "Requisition to Order" the lines are grouped by product into one single line that why it is not possible for them to maintain their need by date field for each line. At the moment todays date is assigned as Scheduled delivery date, but it could be requested that a more suitable date is assigned.

If the PO is created by clicking in the button "create purchase order" in manage requisitions header window, a line is created for each of the lines in the requisition and the need by date will be maintained. The purchase orders header will have the minimum need by date as scheduled delivery date.

Hi Ainhoa,

I understand your explanation regarding combining multiple lines. However, I'm referring to creating a Requisition with 1 line only and completing it. Then I go to Requisition to Order, selected THAT ONE LINE only and process. In this case it is not combined with any other requisition line and should pick up the date that I need it by (one month from now). However, the Purchuse Order reflects TODAY's date as scheduled delivery date.

regards,
renate

Hi Renate,

If you want to keep the "need by date" in your purchase order you should run the process "create PO" from the Manage Requisition window, even if its one line. Requisitions can also be seen from the Manage Requisition window by setting the filter to %.

If you run the process "requitions to order" instead, you will get Today's date as scheduled date (even if you have one line) as it is DEFINED to be this way.
If you want this to be changed, you can create a Feature Request so it will be taken into account in future developments.

Hi Ainhoa,

I can not change the type from 'defect' to 'feature request'. Can you please do that?

thanks in advance

Hi Renate,

This defect is actually a real defect so it should be kept a such. The date problem you reported has been fixed in the "create PO from orders" process.

If you want it changed in the "requisitions to order" process it should be reported as a new feature request issue.

No, I reported it for the Requisition to order Process, so the history on this issue should be used.

Please convert this BUG to an RFE

Additional information for the RFE:
To change the logic for the 'Requisition to order' form as following:
- if one line is converted from a Requisition to a Purchase Order, the scheduled delivery date on the PO should reflect the need by date of the Requisition
- if multiple lines are combined in the 'Requisition to order' form, the scheduled delivery date on the PO should reflect the need by date that is closed by (obtained by examining the need by dates on the Requisition).
For example if today (december 1, 2008) a PO gets created combining a Requisition line needed by January 3 and a Requisition line needed by January 10, the PO line should reflect a scheduled delivery date of January 3, 2009, not of today!

thanks
renate
