| Summary | 0028797: Recommended browser message should include the "or higher" text |
| Description | When loading ERP login page using an outdated browser I get the following message:
NOTE: For a better experience, it is recommended to use Google Chrome 40, Mozilla Firefox 31, Internet Explorer 11 or Apple Safari 8
Since the ERP release is intended to be active for a while, browser's versions should include the "or higher":
Option 1:
NOTE: For a better experience, it is recommended to use a higher version, at least Google Chrome 40, Mozilla Firefox 31, Internet Explorer 11 or Apple Safari 8
Option 2:
NOTE: For a better experience, it is recommended to use Google Chrome 40 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 31 or higher, Internet Explorer 11 or higher, or Apple Safari 8 or higher
Option 3: (Could the message be customised by getting the browser actually used?)
NOTE: For a better experience, it is recommended to use [your_browser] [minimun_version] or higher |

There are several problems with these proposals:
Option 1: You may be using Opera, and you don't want to recommend use a higher version of the current browser but only the one from several vendors (or higher)
Option 2: Too much recurrence of the "or higher" words
Option 3: Option 1 problems + the fact that you can be for example using Windows XP with IE8 and there is no IE11 for this platform, so in this case the recommended browser should be another one
Finally the text: "(or a higher version of any of them)" is going to be added to the end of the current message. |
