Summary0025408: MRP must not take into account generic products
DescriptionWith the introduction of the product characteristics feature, generic products are no longer available for transaction documents such as sales orders and purchase orders.
Accordingly generic products must not be taken into account by MRP, where instead they are listed in the MRP lines. Although they don't generate any inaccurate result, they can create confusion when reading MRP results.
Steps To ReproduceCreate a generic item and configure the manufacturing tab, then create variants.
When you run MRP you can see that generic items are reported in the lines tab.
Proposed SolutionThe MRP stored procedure should filter all products whose isgeneric flag is set to Y.

-Create a generic item,
-Configure the manufacturing tab for generic item,
-Create product characteristics with variants,
-Assign newly created product characteristics to generic item using characteristics tab,
-create variants,
-Create Planner,Planning Method,
-Create Manufacturing Plan or Purchasing Plan
-When you run MRP,
-It is observed that generic items are not reported in the lines tab.Now only variants product are observers in tab if applicable.
