Summary | 0000245: AT240alpha - On DB selector, default option should be the first |
Description | When installing, I can choose my database. Either Oracle or PostgreSQL can be selected. Default option is PostgreSQL, but first option is Oracle. It will be more "natural" if PostgreSQL is moved to top and Oracle is left as second choice. See attach. |
Steps To Reproduce | Install 2.40 alpha |

In this case they're ordered alphabetically. I'm not convinced about it being more natural. |

Alphabetical order could be a problem in near future. If coming releases of OpenbravoERP add, let's say, MS SQL, mySQL and (hope never) Access compatibility, then PostgreSQL will be the last of five options. And, from a Congnitive Load point of view ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_load [^] ) will make harder to an user to decide what database should be chosen. An article related to this can be found here: http://www.humanfactors.com/downloads/may05.asp [^]
Usability and User Interface studies suggest that default options on top are preferred by users.
Anyway, please note that this bug has lowest severity, I mean order can be left as is and everything will be ok. |

All right, fixed in 2.40alpha-r2 installer. |
