This happens in many/all combo lists.

Is this a FIC issue or is it in client side?

I've verified that it's not a FIC issue. The FIC is returning the rows in the correct order. The problem is that the SelectorItem then breaks that order.

Setting the sortField property in ob-formitem-widgets to null fixes the problem, but then breaks the ordering in other combos.
