Summary | 0015782: Need better visibility of Header info when entering / maintaining detail info |
Description | When you maximize a detail tab, you lose information into the key header (master) information. |
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Be in Grid mode at the header level [OK]
2. 2-click on a detail tab to focus on the details [OK]
3. Dang, lost my Header info [NOK] |
Proposed Solution | Whenever the user gives focus to a detailed section:
1. Update the high level tab with the basic header info. Why only update this tab when you are out of grid mode and into the detailed form?
2. Perhaps additionally put the main header info in the big green area to the right of the main tool bar button (bigger font and more noticeable vs. tab--but I would not remove from tab, that is for when you are on other tabs). |

I had a similar finding with a usability testee. Possible solutions are: (1) Use a smooth transition (animation) when closing and opening levels, as now it is very sudden. (2) Tooltip on close tab (3) Show selected document identifier on header tab when it is in grid mode and collapsed (4) Allow dragging down of the divider bar below the collapsed level, now you canĀ“t whereas in any other position you can |

(5) give all tabs, including the active green one, a hover state (David can easily do this by adding an bitmap image)(6) show a glimpse of the header level by not minimizing entirely. In fact, you will have the three levels at once. We could show the statusbar in the header level
