| Summary | 0015003: 3.0 RC2 - Not all linked output is generated into a new tab |
| Description | The 3.0 interaction design model is based on parallel tasks on multiple tabs. This way the user does not need to go back in a process to find information or the other way round.
We have done a good job in opening Linked Labels on new tabs but some windows still produce output inside the same window. Example below. This is not good, because the user now is stuck and needs a back button and the browser back button does not always work well with Post Data. Since we dropped the back button in the GUI in 3.0, this is an issue. |
| Steps To Reproduce | With System administrator role (you need to be in a virtual appliance or running a server..the demo instance does not grant sys admin rights)
General Setup || Process Scheduling || Process Request || Process Request
Select from the grid the 'Acct Server Process' and click the button 'Unschedule process' and click the 'Close' button.
Now switch to Finance Role
Create a purchase invoice (any business partner and product)
Click POST button
Now a GL Posting appears in the same window. The tab still says Purchase Invoice. This is confusing. You can´t go back. |
| Proposed Solution | Make sure that all output (reports, linked items, etc.) will be generated on a new tab. The tab title should always convey what the tab contains. |
